This video basically sums up the problems with the RED line. From what I’ve heard the QC in the RED line has been janky for most buyers. Good idea, but crummy execution. Along with some weird design choices. Like how the figures based on the Prime series weirdly having single jointed limbs at times. From what I’ve heard figures of that scale, 6 inches, are usually made with plastics that’s a bit flexible. It’s apparently there to prevent easy breakage. Like the Star Wars Black Series, GI Joe Classified & Power Rangers Lightning Collection lines. I get why, but it can result in problems like warped limbs & accessories depending on how they are packed. From what I’ve seen so far the figures in current main Transformers toy lines, Legacy, use pretty solid plastics most of the time. They may have the few QC issues, but at least they ain’t gummy most of the time.

Yeah, the child is a little more "disinterested" than they were on the original boxes. Not a bad thing, the kids on the original boxes were so over-the-top gleeful you'd think they had found Captain Kidd's buried treasure. The subdued look here is more realistic.

And 1st place goes to Pallet Toys. While I have liked all of these play sets. This one in my opinion is top notch.I Love the throne design. I will definitely be purchasing one of these. I was thinking while watching this video though. If they had made the bases of all three sets the same as this one in shape. We could sort of like them up together back to back so to speak and made a bit of a complete death star play set. Then the print on the backs could have been like the hallways and obviously the main rooms would be what they are. Maybe something for them to think on in the future. That way you could display them on their own or as a collective set. Either way I love them. My hat goes off to the designer and maker of these. Thank you for the review Dave, and as always thank you for everything you do.

Great looking set, but I'm surprised that he gets away using the Star Wars and Return of the Jedi branding. Lucasfilm was always sue-happy and The Mouse makes old Lucasfilm look like they were giving their stuff away...

Maybe if Paleetoy were to recreate the original Palitoy Death Star play set he’d be onto a real winner !!

I'd like to get this for my Vintage Collection display. Namely how amazing it looks and just swap the throne with the Vintage one and it would still work. Probably so much better than an overpriced Hasbro one.

Impressive, most impressive ! thanks for taking me back in time to the mid seventies and beyond. I recall spending many a Boxingday applying stickers to the playsets of my sons Xmas presents, DAD why are you washing the parts? to make sure the stickers stay on and they did and are still there. We were lucky in Canada Sears Canada bought over the Palitoy sets and sold them as Sears items. Great Memories and fond times, on a personal note I now look more like Obi Wan Kenobi :o)

That throne is an ingenious idea, enough space to stand the emperor there and it looks like he's sitting what with his long robes. Much better than most sitting options for those lovely SW figures in the different vehicles.

Very nice, he might do well just selling the throne on its own, I hope he does a new version of the Cantina, the original is hard to get and very expensive and Hasbro Pulse one is massive and very expensive, the more basic Cardboard one is more appealing to me.

It certainly evokes the cost-cutting aesthetic of Palitoy, but it's not something that I'm a fan of. PersonallyI'd like to see Stan Solo have a go at this.

Bought mine from the entertainer and it also has issues with the legs being loose, the little door on the front is fine and it was advertised as having a swiveling torso but upon twisting it lightly once, the entire figure snapped in half, bit of a waste of money even if it WAS reduced as part of the 40 year anniversary

Cable tie is a great idea, the buckle part of it you could pretend it’s a little ammo/utility pocket especially possibly paint some detail on it to add a texture illusion
